Eleven children participated in the photography class and ranged from nine to fifteen years of age. They are all participants in UMPMRS after school program and all live in the Roupa Suja neighborhood of Rocinha.

Estefani is eleven years old. Her favorite class is science and in her free time she likes to play on the computer. She wants to be an actress in a soap opera when she grows up.

Leandro is eleven years old and has two sisters and three brothers. He likes to study portuguese and play soccer. He wants to be a lawyer when he grows up.

Chayenne is twelve years old. Her favorite subject is history and she likes to play games on the computer in her spare time. She wants to be a professor when she grows up.

Roselane is fifteen years old and has one sister and three brothers. She likes to run and her favorite subject is math. She wants to be a singer when she grows up.
